Life Coaching Tip: When you’re running on empty, it’s tempting to just power through the day—but there’s a more effective, energizing approach. Instead of letting overwhelm take the wheel, try powering up with intentional thoughts that reconnect you to your strength, purpose, and desires. This week’s story is a reminder that our mindset directly fuels our energy and productivity. When your mindset supports your goals, you expand your capacity in ways that feel aligned, purposeful, and powerful.
Here’s a quick reminder:
When we’re feeling overwhelmed, we often go on autopilot and try to power through the day. Our minds aren’t well-managed, and we overextend ourselves emotionally using sheer willpower. It’s exhausting. It drains our mental and physical capacity and leaves us running on empty.
That’s why, anytime my brain serves up overwhelm, I meet it with thoughts that power me up instead of wearing me down.
Let me ask you something:
Do you often find yourself feeling drained and exhausted?
Do you frequently catch yourself saying, “I’m just so tired,” or thinking things like, “I don’t have the energy, and there are literally not enough hours in the day to get it all done!”
If so, pause and ask yourself this powerful question: “Are my thoughts supporting what I want to achieve?”
If the answer is no, then the first step is to redirect your focus from the tired old story to your dreams and desires. Because nothing expands your capacity faster than desire!
From that place, it’s time to power up with new thoughts—thoughts that spark energy, increase stamina, and reconnect you with your strength and purpose.
Here are some of my favorites:
- I am infinitely capable.
- I’ve barely tapped into my energetic reserves.
- Holy shit! When I do the thing, I am energized!
- I want to do this.
- I was born for this.
- I have what it takes.
- My desires are so powerful, they propel me forward.
- My work energizes me!
- I am strong, powerful, and committed to my mission.
- I’ll remember this day as one I showed up and kicked ass.
- I always have more gas in the tank.
- This is easier than I thought.
- I thrive on challenge.
- Every cell in my body is alive with fierce, fired up energy!
- I am bigger than ___________ (whatever’s trying to hold you back).
- I always get it done.
- I’m proud of the way I show up for myself and my dreams.
- I can do this NOW—and quickly.
- I have more than enough time.
- I’m focused and efficient as hell.
- I’m becoming the version of me who can produce at an entirely new level.
It’s time to step into your power, my friend.
It’s time to work with yourself, not against yourself—to generate the energy that fuels your resilience, strength, and productivity.
And isn’t it amazing to realize that even when you feel like your momentum is slipping, you have the power to recharge yourself—any time?

PS: There are absolutely times when the most powerful thing you can do is rest. If you’ve been going, going, going, your brain and body need time to refresh.
Here’s my personal rule of thumb: When I feel tired, and I know I’m being driven by inspiration and desire—it’s time to rest. But when I’m feeling depleted and my thoughts are rooted in not good enough, scarcity, or fear—that’s my cue to power up and shift my mindset. I hope this helps you recognize the difference for yourself, too!
PPS: Next week, I’ll be back with Power Up Thoughts to expand your mental capacity, and the following week we’ll work on boosting your emotional capacity—so stay tuned. You won’t want to miss it!
