Here are answers to questions I sometimes hear, in case you are also wondering…
How is coaching different from therapy or counseling?
Generally speaking, a therapist’s role is to help you heal from the past, while a life coach’s focus is more about guiding you to create “future you.” That being said, our work together will include helping you to understand how your past has contributed to your present situation, and re-framing limiting beliefs that are no longer working for you.
While life coaching is supportive, it is not therapy or any other type of mental health care. It is distinct from therapy or counseling because it is not designed to address psychological issues.
Coaching is not intended to be a replacement for counseling, psychiatric interventions, or treatment for mental illness or substance abuse.
Do you meet with your clients in person or virtually?
At the start of the pandemic, I transitioned to all virtual coaching sessions and group meetings, and it has worked out so well that I’ve decided to continue coaching via Zoom. This allows more scheduling flexibility for both me and my clients, and now the location is never an issue. No matter where you live, you are always welcome to coach with me individually or join my Shine On Group + Coaching Program!
I’m not sure that I’m ready to begin coaching. How can I be sure?
Change can be exciting, but it can also bring up lots of fear. This is why I offer a free, no-obligation consultation. Let’s hop on a call and talk about it!
