Greetings from beautiful Cleveland, Ohio! My name is Tracy, and I am a certified life coach who believes in empowering my clients to recognize and seek the best version of themselves and the life they want to live. Cleveland has seen its ups and downs but is currently reinventing itself as a world-class city complete with fine dining, winning sports teams, and so much more!
I love seeing a good reawakening, and this city reflects my coaching business perfectly. The good news is you do not have to be from Cleveland to work with a life coach from Cleveland! With the increased demand for online meeting space, I can meet with clients worldwide via Zoom.
There’s no place like home, so wherever you are, you can have a life coach from Cleveland in your corner! But what is a life coach exactly, and how can one help you achieve your goals?
What does a life coach really do?
I feel Tony Robbins, one of the most well-known names in the self-help world, defines life coaching perfectly:
“The life coach definition is someone professionally trained to help you maximize your full potential and reach your desired results. They are like a supportive friend and a trusted adviser rolled into one. They’re someone who will push you to identify your goals, hold you accountable and provide encouragement throughout your journey to become a better version of yourself.”
-Tony Robbins from his website TonyRobbins.com
I have used some of Tony’s approaches in my coaching sessions and even reviewed one of his books on my podcast. You can listen to that episode here and learn more about my self-help book review podcast here:
As Tony points out, life coaches get training on how to help their clients best achieve results. And not just any results, we’re talking about those goals you might not dare to dream because they might be too silly, childish, outrageous, crazy, unimaginable…you get the idea.
Life coaches learn to ask the right questions and get you to those innermost desires so that we can make them happen! We develop your personal mission statement and identify your core values and make sure all your aspirations are aligned with those accordingly.
As your life coach, I will help guide you back to your inner voice to discover your passions (rather than any random ones you have picked up along the way that no longer serve you). When times get challenging, confusing, or busy, I hold your beliefs safe and remind you of them and your goals. This helps you stay focused, instead of distracted, by others’ opinions on how you should be living your life.
I’m also here to help you give yourself permission to go after what you want. We work together to develop the confidence and courage to go after your dreams!
How is a life coach different from a therapist?
A life coach is more like a creative partner who guides you back to yourself, and then helps you move forward towards the goals you wish to achieve. A therapist can be an excellent addition to your plan, particularly if you suffer from depression or any other condition that makes it hard to access your passions, energy, creativity, etc.
A therapist can help you identify and reduce the symptoms of a mental illness, and this can look very different from person to person. As a coach with a psychology background and an extensive career in community mental health, my experience has taught me to value counseling, and encourage my clients to pursue this service when needed.
Coaching is never intended to be a replacement for counseling, psychiatric interventions, or treatment for mental illness or substance abuse. I am not a therapist, so our work will not include clinical treatment.
However, coaching can complement the work you do in therapy to help you live your best life.
What problems do life coaches solve?
When you work with me as your life coach, YOU will be doing the hard work on your problems. I will be by your side the whole time, providing tools and support to identify the issues and the solutions that best fit your goals. I will also help you develop your own skills to achieve your dreams. Coaching is for anyone who wants a life change, including a change in career, lifestyle, habits, and more. For instance, through my years of working as a life coach, my clients have successfully:
- Left unfulfilling careers and opened businesses
- Sold their businesses
- Changed professions or employers (finding meaningful work after many years of discontentment)
- Increased in confidence after a break-up and started dating again
- Found new love
- Learned to set healthy boundaries and value themselves
- Accomplished goals they had been procrastinating about for years, such as organizing their home, losing weight, enrolling in school, training for a marathon, and more.
Goals are as different as their creators. We will tailor our coaching sessions to best fit your concerns and create an individual plan for success!
What Can a Life Coach Do for You?
I firmly believe that everyone can benefit from a life coach. Having a neutral third party takes the drama out of your challenges and situations. I can help you see the forest through the trees. A life coach can also provide a layer of accountability. Some women struggle with goals because they always prioritize others’ needs before their own.
As an external influence, I can create a safety net for those goals that would otherwise get put on the shelf for a more convenient time (spoiler alert: there’s never going to be a convenient time to go after your desires). I can help you honor your commitment to yourself and ensure there is enough time and space for these targets.
As your life coach, finding what makes you light up and how we can get more of that in your life is always my priority. You are on this earth to share your gifts, so let’s discover them and plan to do just that!
The City of Cleveland’s motto is “Progress and Prosperity,” making it the perfect location for my coaching business. With steady progress and defined goals, there is nothing that can stand in your way to the life you’ve always wanted. This Cleveland-based coach can’t wait to be part of your comeback story, too!
