As We Ease Into January…

December 28, 2025 //  by Tracy Baranauskas//  Leave a Comment

Life Coaching Tip: You don’t have to rush into the new year just because the calendar is turning. This quiet stretch at the end of the year is meant for reflection, not resolution. It’s a time to take stock of what shifted or surprised you. Awareness, not urgency, is what creates meaningful change. Give yourself permission to slow down and listen.

This week always feels a little different, doesn’t it?

The holidays are behind us. The calendar has some breathing room. And there’s this quiet space where things naturally slow down a notch.

December 28 lives in that in-between. It’s almost the end, but not quite the beginning. And I actually think that makes it a powerful place to pause.

Some people feel energized right now. They’re ready to dream, plan, and map out what’s next. Others feel quiet, reflective, or just plain tired. Most of us feel a mix of all of it.

However, you are arriving to this moment is exactly right.

This week doesn’t have to be about figuring everything out. It can simply be about paying attention. Listening to your intuition. Letting a little clarity arrive on its own.

I’d like to offer you a few reflective questions you can ask yourself on a walk, over coffee, or in a quiet moment before bed:

  • What felt easier this year than it used to?
  • Where did I grow without even realizing it?
  • What am I proud of, even if no one else saw it?
  • What felt nourishing that I want more of next year?
  • What felt like an obligation that no longer fits?
  • When did I feel most calm, steady, or at peace?
  • What do I want to be more intentional with: my mornings,  boundaries, relationships, energy?
  • What do I want to say “yes” to more often?
  • What do I want to protect more fiercely moving forward: my energy, my time, my joy?

No pressure to answer them perfectly. No need to turn them into goals or resolutions. Just notice what’s coming up for you.

Awareness has a way of guiding us, softly and steadily, toward what’s next.

So, whether you’re feeling optimistic, reflective, ready, or resting . . . trust that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. This pause isn’t wasted time.

It’s part of the process.

Wishing you an easy close to this year and a grounded step into the new year!
